Falling forwards

To try to take my mind off other things, I've added a small indicator on the right hand side of my blog. It shows the date we should hit one million SL residents. The projection is derived from an average of the last 14 days of signups, so we can expect to see it vary a little, as each day's data comes in.

The only real downside was that it only took me about six minutes to make.

  1. We should all keep our eyes on this! (Who's started a betting pool yet?)

  2. Ooh, this gives me a great idea...

  3. Shockwave Plasma4:49 AM

(one betting pool) with X number of members = X number of members writing alt creation scripts.

This could get messy near the 1 Million mark :-)

  4. Anyone notice that the current projection points to Halloween?

  5. Yes...maybe we could slow the rate down just a tad, so that "One Million Date" becomes a nice birthday present for me?

I'd be interested to know if registration rates have sustained at the level they achieved in the wake of the security breach, or if that was merely a "bounce" of short duration...

  6. Anonymous6:33 AM

I think this is great. Count me in.

  7. That date sounds about right! I'm really exicted to see who the millionth resident will be! It's almost like history in the making .. umm DOH! The creation os Second Life IS history in the making. Aw .. your avatar looks like my good friend that I have lost touch with.
